
Dr. Kurd is an ABOS Board Certified Spine Surgeon and associate professor of Orthopaedic Surgery at Thomas Jefferson University. He specializes in minimally invasive spinal procedures of the cervical, thoracic and lumbar spine.
He graduated from Georgetown University with a B.A. in economics and received his M.D. from Thomas Jefferson University where he was President of the AOA Honors Medical Society.Dr. Kurd completed his orthopaedic residency at The Rothman Orthopaedic Institute at Thomas Jefferson University and completed a fellowship in spinal surgery at Rush University Medical Center.
Dr. Kurd has published several scientific articles and book chapters and has presented his research nationally and internationally.He has a particular interest in novel approaches to peri-operartive pain management.He currently holds the titles of President of the Association for Collaborative Spine Research and Program Chair for the International Society for the Advancement of Spine Surgery.He is a member of the North American Spine Society (NASS), the Lumbar Spine Research Society (LSRS), the American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons (AAOS) and the American Orthopaedic Association (AOA).
