
Dr. Matzon is board certified in Orthopaedic Surgery and subspecialty certified in Hand Surgery. He is an Associate Professor of Orthopaedic Surgery at Thomas Jefferson University Hospital.
While born in Sweden, Dr. Matzon was raised in Cherry Hill, New Jersey. He attended Dartmouth College where he played varsity soccer for the nationally ranked men’s team. After medical school at the University of Chicago, he returned to the Philadelphia area for his orthopaedic surgery residency at the University of Pennsylvania. Following fellowship training at the prestigious Curtis National Hand Center, Dr. Matzon joined the Rothman Orthopaedic Institute.
Dr. Matzon specializes in all conditions of the hand, wrist and elbow. He has special interest in complex fracture care, traumatic soft tissue injury, carpal tunnel syndrome, and “wide-awake” hand surgery.
