
Dr. Hilibrand is a native of Cherry Hill, New Jersey.He graduated from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology with a B.S. in Life Sciences, and received his M.D. from the Yale University School of Medicine, where he served as Class President.He completed an Internship in Surgery and a Residency in Orthopaedic Surgery at the University of Michigan Hospitals in Ann Arbor, Michigan, and a Fellowship in Spine and Spinal Cord Injury at Case Western Reserve University under Dr. Henry H. Bohlman.
Dr. Hilibrand is the Vice Chairman for Academic Affairs and Faculty Development for the Department of Orthopaedic Surgery and the Joseph and Marie Field Professor of Spinal Surgery and Professor of Neurological Surgery at Rothman Orthopaedic Institute and the Sidney Kimmel Medical College of Thomas Jefferson University.He is the Director of the Spine Fellowship at Rothman Orthopaedic Institute. He has been a board certified orthopaedic surgeon since 1998.
Dr. Hilibrand has served as the President of the Cervical Spine Research Society and as Treasurer of the American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons, on its Board of Directors. He will become the President of the North American Spine Society in 2027.
