Five Rothman Physicians Earn South Jersey Magazine Top Physician Honors

Rothman Orthopaedics is pleased to announce that Dr. Daniel Bazylwicz, Dr. Joseph Daniel, Dr. Matthew Pepe, Dr. Barrett Woods, and Dr. Shailen Woods have been named “Top Physicians” for 2024 by South Jersey Magazine. These five Rothman physicians earned votes from community members for their dedication in serving the South Jersey community.

Dr. Daniel Bazylewicz is a board-certified Orthopedic Trauma and Fracture Care Surgeon. He completed his residency at NYU Hospital for Joint Diseases and went on to complete an Orthopedic Trauma fellowship at the Carolinas Medical Center in Charlotte, NC. Dr. Bazylewicz is a published physician with a dedication to ongoing research in Orthopaedic Trauma.

Dr. Joseph Daniel is an Associate Professor of Orthopedic Surgery at Sidney Kimmel Medical College at Thomas Jefferson University and is the Residency Program Director of Orthopaedic Surgery at Rowan University SOM, where he holds the title of Clinical Professor. He draws on his experience in the management of all aspects of foot and ankle surgery to include deformity correction, sports injuries, arthroscopy, reconstruction, fracture management, arthritis, neuromuscular conditions, and ankle replacement surgery.

Dr. Matthew Pepe is a board-certified Orthopedic Surgeon specializing in Sports Medicine, particularly, shoulder, knee, and elbow reconstruction. He completed his residency in Orthopaedic Surgery at the University of Pennsylvania and went on to complete his fellowship in both Sports Medicine and Shoulder Surgery at the University of Pittsburgh.

Dr. Barrett Woods is board-certified in Orthopedic Surgery and serves as an Associate Professor of spine surgery at Thomas Jefferson University Hospital. Dr. Woods completed his residency program in Orthopedic Surgery at the University of Pittsburgh and went on to complete his Spine Surgery fellowship at Rothman Orthopaedics. Dr. Woods has conducted extensive research in the field of orthopedics and continues to do so, specifically in the treatment of cervical, thoracic and lumbar spine pathologies.

Dr. Shailen Woods is a board-certified Physical Medicine & Rehabilitation specialist. She completed both her residency program and her fellowship training in Musculoskeletal, Sports and Spine at the University of Pittsburgh Medical Center. Her clinical interests include spine rehabilitation, electrodiagnostics, interventional spine procedures, trigger point injections, and sports injuries.
