Sever’s Disease is an injury where there is inflammation in the growth plate of the calcaneus (heel). This area is also an attachment site for the Achilles Tendon which is the tendon that connects the calf muscle to the heel bone. Repetitive stress to this area such as running and jumping can cause pain and inflammation.

Risk Factors
Young adolescents that are less active, especially if they wear flat shoes.
Children and adolescents that participate in activities or sports that entail running and jumping.
