Describe your experience.
I suffered my SLAP Tear injury laying out for a disc, and when something like that happens, everything goes through your mind. Fortunately, I didn't have to have surgery, so the recovery was much faster than it could have been. Sitting on the sidelines is the worst part of the day, and it will always be that way for athletes, especially from the mental aspect. After the SLAP Tear and MRI, it took about three weeks to get cleared and back to playing. Once cleared, I needed to wear a brace and do physical therapy for the following 12 months.
What would you recommend to patients considering treatment?
For me, with Rothman's approach, it felt like it was in the best interest of the athlete. Recovery and being injured is the worst part of being an athlete, but doing it the right matters a lot. Rothman Orthopaedics definitely knows how to get it done, as well as how to get you back on the field quickly and stronger than ever.
