Linda's Story - Spine Surgery

Exercise was more than a pastime for Linda, it was her passion. It’s what transformed her from overweight into a marathon runner. And where she gets the stamina to handle raising two teenagers. Until one day in August when she was out for a run, and severe hip pain pulled her up short.

After a visit to her chiropractor and an MRI revealed damage to her spine requiring surgery, Linda was scared. So scared that she put it off for four months until finally, she had to admit that this was a fight she couldn’t win. Not on her own.

So she made the two hour drive to AtlantiCare in Egg Harbor Township, and after meeting with her Rothman surgeon—her fears were completely put to rest. Her doctor assured her she’d be back at it in no time. And just four days after surgery, she was. Back in the gym training for another marathon with a renewed outlook, “You have to trust your doctor. Living your life in pain and fear is not living.”
