Describe your experience.
My Rothman physician did a thorough examination, reviewed my history, and went over all my options. He explained the ankle replacement surgery in detail, as well as the long-term care, and we agreed it was my best option. From there, the surgery was scheduled, performed, and follow-up care has all been an exceptional experience. I live in Wimauma, FL, which is pretty far, so I was able to do all my pre-operative testing here, then had surgery and my follow-up appointments in Winter Park. My physician was a very caring surgeon, and I am very fortunate to have received their care. I am so impressed and happy with the level of care received, I am not at all phased or deterred driving from Wimauma to Winter Park for a great surgeon.
What would you recommend to patients considering treatment?
Meet with the doctors, understand what options are available to you, and if you are willing to commit to the recovery time, then ankle replacement surgery is worth it. A few months of recovery is nothing when compared to consistent chronic pain, especially when you have a talented, trust-worthy surgeon who is looking out for your best interest.
