For over fifteen years I have lived with extreme back pain with pain radiating down my right leg due to severe spinal stenosis, making standing, walking and doing normal everyday activities almost impossible. No pain medication helped and after having tried cortisone shots and epidural injections, I realized surgery was probably the only answer.
My family doctor recommended Dr. Guy Lee, who in turn suggested I meet with his associate Dr. Victor Hsu. Since my spinal stenosis was so severe and would need extensive work, robotic surgery was recommended and was something Dr. Hsu specialized in. I can’t say enough good things about both Dr. Lee and Dr. Hsu. As a person with high anxiety, both made me feel comfortable and put me at ease. I ultimately decided to have Dr. Hsu perform the surgery at Abington Hospital - Jefferson Health and surgery was scheduled in a few short weeks, making my wait time very minimal.
It was the best decision I ever made. I am 9 months post-surgery and am enjoying the freedom from the previous pain I had. At 70 years old, I can walk, stand and move freely with no pre-surgery pain. Dr. Hsu is honest, straight-forward, patient and took the time to answer any questions I had. His integrity, kindness and professionalism were above anything I expected. During my follow up appointments, I felt like I was visiting a friend who was interested in my well-being. The care I received while in the hospital and by Dr. Hsu was far above any expectations I had.
Dr. Hsu is definitely the doctor to see if you need back surgery.
