
Dr. Amber Shane is an internationally recognized, board-certified Podiatric Foot and Ankle Surgeon. She has been providing comprehensive foot and ankle care in the Central Florida area since 2006. Dr. Shane is board-certified in Reconstructive Foot and Ankle Surgery by the American Board of Foot and Ankle Surgery and a Fellow of the American College of Foot and Ankle Surgeons. She is an expert in comprehensive care for all ages and conditions effecting the foot and ankle with specialized training and interest in complex reconstruction, lower extremity trauma, sports injuries, and total ankle replacement.
Dr. Shane has presented hundreds of lectures on surgical topics with a multitude of publications in textbooks and internationally recognized peer reviewed journals. Her passion is advancing foot and ankle surgery through innovation and design as she diligently works on multiple design teams developing cutting edge new products involving the latest in foot and ankle surgery.
Dr. Shane is an active educator and leader in foot and ankle surgical education, receiving numerous professional awards. She serves as faculty for the AdventHealth orthopedic residency and over 20 years as faculty for the podiatric surgery residency training program. Dr. Shane is active in the foot and ankle trauma service for the AdventHealth emergency department and heads the Department of Podiatric Surgery for the Central Florida Division of AdventHealth as the department chair for the past 8 years. She also serves as the AdventHealth Externship Director for the podiatric medical students and mentors undergraduate pre-med students.
Dr. Shane is currently a member of the Executive Board on the Board of Directors of the American College of Foot and Ankle Surgeons (ACFAS). Additionally, she spent many years on board certification examination committees within the American Board of Foot and Ankle Surgery (ABFAS).
Dr. Shane enjoyed a successful collegiate tennis career during undergraduate studies at Ferris State University as a NCAA Div. II Academic All-American. She achieved a masters degree and medical degree from Barry University in Miami, FL. Dr. Shane completed her surgical residency training at Florida Hospital East Orlando with advanced training by being chosen for as an AO Fellow in trauma in Dresden, Germany at the University Clinic Carl Gustav Carus and an Ilizarov Fellow in lower-extremity external fixation and reconstructive traumatology at the Ilizarov Scientific Center for Restorative Traumatology and Orthopaedics in Kurgan, Russia.
Dr. Shane is married and the mother of two active boys, Brock and Chase, who are involved in multiple sports and one an aspiring pilot. Dr. Shane enjoys working out, being active, traveling with family, and playing and watching sports.
